This time it was the Second Gdov Halfmarathon (ecological race).
We named it 'ecological' because the Gdov region can be surely called ecologically safe. Locals care for nature from time immemorial. There are no large plants in the region that could influence the environment.
Running in a beautiful place breathing fresh air is a real pleasure.
The track passes through the quiet Gdov streets and along the shore of beautiful Lake Peipsi.
The popularity of Gdov Races is growing. This time, runners from Russia, Estonia, Belarus, Ukraine, Italy, and Great Britain came to the start.
A large team of volunteers helped to make the run as comfortable as possible: they prompted the direction on the track, encouraged the participants, met them at the finish line, entertained the children while their parents covered their distance.
Winners added cups, silver and bronze medals to their wall of fame.
Each finisher received a diploma and a participant’s medal, as well as delicious pastries from Gdov Raipo.
